While there are two methods for sugaring, the only sugaring process we use at Shobha is similar to traditional waxing, but instead uses our gentle Sugaring Gel, made of only sugar, lemon juice, glycerin and water. Our Sugaring Gel adheres more to the hair instead of the top layer of skin, which is why many people find this method to be less painful and irritating than waxing. However, if your hair is unaccustomed to being taken from the root, if it`s shorter than ¼" in length, or if you have uneven regrowth (from shaving or any other reason), then it can be a challenge to have a successful sugaring treatment initially. If this is the case for you then we recommend you start with waxing and then graduate to sugar after a couple of treatments. Many of our clients start with waxing a few times and then switch to sugar to achieve the same smooth results!⁠
